Solid Nero vine, slow delivery

I purchased a 'Nero' vine and some 'Pflanzpfähle' a few weeks ago. The vine itself looked healthy when it arrived, well-packaged in its container. I appreciate that they focus on fungus-resistant varieties, which is a big plus for my garden. My only real gripe was the delivery time; it took about 8 days to reach me in Arizona, which felt a bit long for a live plant. Customer service was responsive when I inquired, though. Overall, a good product but they could improve on shipping speed.

Reliable source for vines

This isn't my first time buying from Pillnitzer Tafelreben. I've ordered from them a few times now, mainly 'Venus' and 'Lakemont' vines in the past, and this time I got an 'Irinka'. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. The plants always arrive in good shape, look healthy, and grow well. They package them securely, so I don't worry about damage. It's nice to have a go-to place that's dependable for quality grapevines.

Great value on Arkadia

I was looking for a good deal on some table grape vines, and Pillnitzer Tafelreben popped up. I got the 'Arkadia' vine. The price was competitive, and I even got a small discount for ordering a couple. Shipping was reasonable for a plant. It felt like a good buy for my budget, definitely worth the money I spent.

Good vine, fast shipping

I ordered an 'Attika' vine. It came quickly, well-packed. Planted it, seems to be doing fine. No issues.

How are these packed for shipping? I'm always worried about plants getting beat up in transit.

M Marcus G. 2 months ago
Mine arrived really well packed. The roots were moist and the whole plant was secured so it didn't bounce around. No damage at all.

They do a good job. My last order came in a sturdy box, and the plant was tied down so it couldn't shift. The soil was still damp, too.

Is it better to plant these in spring or fall? I'm debating when to order.

G Greg 2 months ago
Spring is usually the best time to plant grapevines so they have the whole season to establish roots before winter hits. That's what I did.

Definitely spring. Gives them a solid head start. Fall can work too, but spring is less risky for sure.

Anyone tried their 'starter sets'? Are they actually good for someone new to growing grapes?

C Cody Romero 2 months ago
I got one of the 'Einsteiger Set Weinbau' a couple of years ago and it was super helpful. Came with the vine, some fertilizer, and basic info. Good way to get going without guessing.

Yeah, I think they're decent. Comes with pretty much everything you need to get the plant going. Makes it less intimidating if you're new to it.

Are their 'container vines' ready to plant outside, or do they need some special care first?

A Anna G. 2 months ago
The container vines are usually good to go straight into the ground or a larger pot once you get them. Just make sure the weather is right.

They're pretty robust coming in a container. Just unpack and plant 'em when you're ready, no special hardening off needed unless your local climate is drastically different.

I heard something about a newsletter coupon. Is that still a thing or was it a one-time deal?

A Alex 2 months ago
Pretty sure it's still a thing. I signed up for their newsletter a while back and got a code for my first order. Worth a try!

They tend to give out coupon codes through their newsletter, so it's a good idea to sign up if you haven't already. Not always huge discounts but sometimes free shipping or a small percentage off.
